Liquidation could be confirmed today

by isleofman.com 27th May 2009

A legal hearing today is expected to formally confirm the liquidation of the collapsed bank Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander.

It follows last week's vote by depositors to reject the Manx Treasury's Scheme of Arrangement, which would have been an alternative course of action.

Instead, the DCS will come into operation, with the Financial Supervision Commission, the scheme manager, expected to declare its activation following the court hearing.

It's likely there will be an announcement about how claims can be made under the scheme later this week.
