Parish walker tackles more rugged terrain

More satisfied hikers are returning home to spread the word that the Isle of Man is a great destination for walkers!

This spring's walking festival attracted around 125 people to a week-long series of guided tours through the Island's varied landscape.

They ranged from easy circular strolls to a five day trek around the 95 mile coastal footpath.

The festival ended in style at the weekend as a dozen intrepid walkers completed the 'Way of the Gull', crossing the finishing line on Douglas Promenade.

Among them was Parish Walk athlete Bethany Clague, who discovered that walking through the countryside is a very different challenge:
