Island could feel backlash from MPs expenses scandal

The scandal of MPs expenses could tarnish the reputation of all polititicians, both in the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man.

That's the of view of Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan on the fall-out from revelations of widespread abuse of parliamentary expnses by members of all parties at Westminster.

On Sunday Opinion, Mr Rodan said even though nothing similar could happen here, the result may well be a growing cynicism among the public towards politicians, which was something society didn't deserve:
