Baby's death remains unexplained

by isleofman.com 20th May 2009

An inquest in Douglas today has been unable to establish how an apparently healthy twelve-week-old baby died.

The hearing was told Jak Thomas Moore stopped breathing on November 9 last year. His mother called an ambulance but he was pronounced dead in A and E at Noble's Hospital.

A team of pathologists from Alder Hey Children's Hospital were unable to find an obvious cause of death, but ruled out any suggestion of foul play.

Coroner Michael Moyle said around two to three per cent of deaths in the British Isles were unexplainable.

He recorded a verdict of natural causes, unascertained.
