A report into the partial closure of the Manx Electric Railway last year will not be aired again in public.
The document was compiled by Ken Tomlinson, MBE, as part of an independent inquiry into what led to the decision to shutdown part of the track.
It was laid before Tynwald last month, but its contents weren't discussed, which meant the recommendations weren't subject to public scrutiny.
Last night, North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson called for the Department of Tourism and Leisure, which runs the trams, to make a public statement addressing the issues raised in the study.
He also wanted the DTL to explain how any shortcomings highlighted by Mr Tomlinson were being addressed.
But, after a lengthy debate, his motion was defeated by an amendment from former Tourism and Leisure Minister Adrian Earnshaw.
It means Tynwald accepts the department has taken, and will continue to take, appropriate action to address any matters of concern.
