Those hoping for an investigation into the collapse of Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander will have to wait until July.
This afternoon, Tynwald was due to debate whether to set up a select committee to look into the bank’s demise, the role of the FSC, and the depositors’ compensation scheme.
But Treasury Minister Allan Bell told the court such a move would be premature until the result of today’s vote on the government’s Scheme of Arrangement was known.
He said delaying the investigation until July would ensure civil servants would be free to give evidence:
