Jurby prison impresses Scottish visitors

A group of senior prison officers from Scotland have given the Island's new jail in Jurby their stamp of approval.

They have just completed a three day fact finding visit, during which they studied the design of the building and considered how it might influence the construction of a replacement prison in Peterhead.

The group met with governors, officers, commissioning staff and prisoners.

Operational executive for the Scottish Prison Service Ian Whitehead says they were really impressed by the building:
