VENDA going gets tough - IT companies excluded from bidding process

An online shopping site is good news for the Island’s shops, but not so great for local IT companies, according to Onchan MHK Peter Karran.

In Tynwald today he will quiz DTI Minister David Cretney about why the new system, known as VENDA, was adopted without going through a tendering process.

Mr Karran says local firms were left out of the process and found themselves unable to bid to set up the online shopping portal.

He says his concerns were sparked by local IT companies who contacted him:
