Former MHK to speak at UK maritime event

A former member of the House of Keys and Manx government minister will give a talk at a prestigious maritime gathering in the United Kingdom this evening.

David North will be speaking at the biennial gathering of Nautilus, the union for seafaring officers.

Mr North, who was MHK for Middle and minister for trade and industry, says it's an honour to be invited and it will help keep the Island on the map as far as shipping is concerned (play audio file):

The gala dinner is being held in Gateshead.
