MNYT 'eyes' up big opportunity!

by isleofman.com 13th May 2009

A group of young actors and actresses from the Isle of Man will reach new heights later this month when they perform Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice on the London Eye.

Ten members of the Manx National Youth Theatre will take part in the launch of the Transformation Trust, which will sponsor the Shakespeare Schools Festival, the largest youth drama festival in the country.

Only twelve theatre companies have been asked to the launch, which will also see performances outside the Tate Modern.

The Manx National Youth Theatre was selected on the back of its visit to the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts last year.
