'Traffic problems aren't due to horse trams'

A Douglas councillor is defending the horse tram service operated by the borough council.

In the past it has been suggested the vintage transport system should be stopped, because of the amount of traffic on the promenade.

But, on Talking Heads today, Leisure Services Committee chairman Stephen Pitts said that was nonsense (play audio file):

The horse trams resumed operations for the summer yesterday, and will run running from 11am to 8pm throughout the season.
