Cusha building coming down

by isleofman.com 12th May 2009

The new chairman of Ramsey Commissioners is welcoming the imminent demolition of the former Cusha building in Parliament Street.

Sylvia Beattie says it has become an eyesore and is well past the end of its useful life.

Mrs Beattie says knocking it down is preferable to letting it fall into a further state of delapidation, and sees the clearance of the site as "an encouraging sign of better things to come in the town".

The building will be demolished this weekend, when there will be a temporary road closure order banning vehicles and pedestrians in the section of Parliament Street between East Street and Tower Street.

The closure be from 6pm on Saturday to 10pm on Sunday.
