MHK on DHSS consultation - Mandate interview

Other government departments should forfeit some of their budget if it will ensure proper delivery of health services.

That's the view of North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson, after the DHSS launched a major consultation, billed as an opportunity to influence future health policy in the Isle of Man.

It assesses a range of options on how healthcare should be funded in the future and asks whether certain services and benefits should be targeted.

Mr Henderson has concerns but, on Mandate at One, he also expressed some sympathy for the position of the Health Minister, Eddie Teare (extended audio file attached):
