Timetable changed to increase horsetram use

Douglas horse trams begin their season today, with a two-hour timetable shift to encourage people to use them.

They will start and finish later, running between 11am and 8pm instead of the usual 9 to 5.

It will also be the first time the trams have run with the new horse dung collectors, designed to keep the promenade clean.

Horse trams operation supervisor Peter Cannan hopes the revised timetable will reverse a decline in numbers using the trams:
