by isleofman.com 9th May 2009

There's one change to the line up of chairmen for the five main committees of Douglas Borough Council, for the new municipal year.

Colin Cain is the new man in charge of the Public Health and Housing Committee, taking over from Michael Gelling, who has been chosen as the new mayor.

David Christian has been re-elected Leader of the Council and chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee, while Stephen Pitts, Ritchie McNicholl and David Ashford stay in the hot seats at Leisure Services, Public Works and Commercial Lettings respectively.

Councillor Gelling is due to be formally installed as Mayor of Douglas at a special meeting of the council next Wednesday afternoon.
