Calf attack leaves man in hospital

Following a recent incident in which a Colby woman was seriously injured by cattle, a similar story has emerged.

Chris Gledhill was on a beach in Santon, below fields which were empty of livestock, when he saw a calf standing on a rock which was becoming surrounded by water.

He approached the animal to check it was safe but, as he got near, the calf leapt at him and knocked him over a ten foot drop.

Chris was rescued by ambulance staff and spent two nights in hospital with a fractured spine.

However, he believes no one should be blamed for what he regards as an unfortunate accident:
