Belmont Terrace death - man was a sex offender

by isleofman.com 7th May 2009

A man who was found dead in a flat in Douglas earlier this week was a convicted sex offender.

Bernard Alan Jenkinson, aged 49, was jailed in 2007 for indecently assaulting a 16 year-old girl.

His body was discovered at a flat on Belmont Terrace on Tuesday morning.

A post mortem was carried out yesterday by Home Office pathologist Dr Paul Johnson.

The death is no longer being treated as suspicious, but officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to Mr Jenkinson's death.

Anybody who can help is asked to ring Police Headquarters on 631212, or the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111.
