Ramsey housing scheme progressing well

by isleofman.com 7th May 2009

Work on the second phase of Ramsey Commissioners' latest public sector housing scheme is progressing on schedule, with the first ten homes due to be handed over by builders Auldyn Construction next month.

Phase two involves the construction of 30 properties, at a cost of ?7.6 million pounds, and is due for completion in the autumn.

It includes two homes with specially adapted extensions, for people with specific care and mobility support needs.

The development occupies the site of the former Lezayre housing estate and a total of 149 new homes are being built, in four phases, at a cost of ?25 million.

The scheme is being undertaken as a partnership, between the commissioners and Department of Local Government and the Environment and is scheduled for completion early in 2011.
