Wildlife Trust wants action on biodiversity

The Manx Wildlife Trust is urging its members to lobby their MHKs over the Island's failure to sign up to an important international convention.

The Isle of Man has not yet put its name to the Convention on Biodiversity, agreed by more than 180 countries at the landmark Rio Summit in 1992.

Trust members are being asked to find out from their MHKs why nothing has happened, and what the government plans to do.

Director of the Manx Wildlife Trust Duncan Bridges says the Island's treasured natural diversity deserves better:
