Swine flu - latest government advice

by isleofman.com 5th May 2009

Anyone in the Isle of Man who suspects they have swine flu and goes to their doctor or hospital will be sent straight home.

That's the message from the Department of Health, particularly for people who have recently been to an affected country.

Health chiefs are pleading with people who develop symptoms within seven days of returning to the Island to minimise contact with others to avoid passing on the virus.

Anybody who thinks they might have the virus is being told to stay at home and phone their GP for advice.

The World Health Organisation flu alert remains at level five, and the situation in the United Kingdom appears to be under control.

Information, advice and useful links are available at gov.im/swineflu - the Isle of Man government's dedicted swine flu website.
