Property cordoned off following 'suspicious' death

by isleofman.com 5th May 2009

Police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was found in Douglas.

The dead man was found by officers at around 9am today in what's thought to be an apartment, at 13 Belmont Terrace.

Investigating officers say the death is being treated as suspicious at this time and the front and rear of the property have been cordoned off.

A Home Office Pathologist is due to travel to the Island to carry out a post mortem and the coroner of inquests has been informed.

Police appreciate securing of the area will cause some problems for local residents, but say they will do everything they can to minimise any upset and keep people in the area informed of any further changes.
