Chelsea takes Malta plaudits

by isleofman.com 3rd May 2009

An Island singer was among the front-runners in an international singing competition in Malta.

Chelsea Gowland, 16, went down a storm in Malta with her performance of ‘Waiting on the World to Change’, recorded especially for the TTXGP, the world’s first clean emissions motorcycle race.

So much so, she’s been invited to make a guest appearance at a similar competition in Egypt this summer.

Spain won the contest and qualify for the annual Gran Canaria International Song Festival next month.

She took a selection of Manx produce to give out during the competition - including a Manx Loaghtan lamb mascot.
