Ramsey Commissioners will elect a new chairman this evening.
The annual general meeting of the board will mark the end of the first full term since last April’s local authority elections.
Chairman Brian Beattie says it's been a challenging year and many issues remain on the horizon, not least plans for a new hotel in the town.
He told Manx Radio:
"Twelve months have gone by extremely quickly [and] it's hard to realise that this time last year Rasmey had just fought a local authority general election and twelve members of the board had been elected.
"There are two planning applications that have been approved for hotels in the town and I'm still hopeful that one will get built in the not too distant future.
"I can't guarantee anything, but I certainly hope that it will happen because it's something that the town desperately needs and there's a viable business there for one."
The meeting is open to the public and is at the Town Hall from 7pm.
