There will be questions about pay rises for the head of the Island’s financial watchdog and discussion about hybrid cars during next week's sitting of the House of Keys.

MHKs will deal with ten questions for oral answer and two for written reply when they meet on Tuesday.

There are also three new laws up for discussion, covering MHK's expenses, the Island’s constitution and terrorist financing.

Meanwhile, it looks to be a quiet sitting for MLCs who have just one piece of business to take care of, a new law outlawing female genital mutilation.

Among the questions MHKs will ask is one from Michael member David Cannan about the chief executive of the Financial Supervision Commission.

He will ask Chief Minister Tony Brown whether John Aspden’s pay rises, totalling 24 per cent in the last two years, are appropriate given a suggestion there will be a civil service pay freeze this year.

Rushen MHK Juan Watterson will quiz Transport Minister David Anderson about road tax levels on hybrid cars and what's being done to encourage people into greener vehicles.

The Legislative Council sits at 10.30am next Tuesday, the House of Keys starts at 10am and there will be full coverage of Keys questions on Manx Radio’s AM 1368 frequency.
