Swine flu - Mandate interview

Chief Minister Tony Brown has spoken to the Island's media about swine flu for the first time.

In the light of the increasing number of cases in a growing number of countries, all departments of the Manx government have been advised to step up their contingency preparations, in accordance with the government's strategic plan for dealing with a flu pandemic.

At the same time, the World Health Organisation has raised the alert level for the disease from four to five, triggering the distribution of advice leaflets to all households in the Island, which will happen next week.
