Music festival has 'govt support'

by isleofman.com 30th April 2009

The organiser of the Isle of Man Bay Festival says he has the full support of government – after a well-publicised spat with the former tourism minister.

Jonathan Irving says a row about government support for a repeat of the Peel Bay Festival – which entertained thousands during Centenary TT but made massive financial losses – was a difference of opinion with Adrian Earnshaw MHK.

The Isle of Man Bay Festival will take place the week after next year’s TT festival and is expected to feature major bands and artists.

Mr Irving says the arguments about government support are now over.
