Endurance athlete Bethany Clague is all set to tackle her latest challenge: to run 100 miles in just three days.
Bethany, who last year completed a historic Double Parish Walk, has now focused on a unique running challenge, to raise money for homeless shelter Kemmyrk.
On Saturday 2nd May, she will run 40 miles from Onchan to Kirk Michael, via the north, around the Island's perimeter roads. The following day, she intends to complete a lap of the Island by running a further 40 miles from Kirk Michael to Onchan in a southerly direction.
Finally, on Bank Holiday Monday (4th May), she will run the final 20 miles on a treadmill outside the Chester Street Shoprite store, starting at 10am. There will be collection buckets for people to make donations towards Bethany's chosen charity.
It is a feat to make most people flinch but far from impossible for the popular gym instructor, who regularly participates in ultra long-distance events and next year plans to run from John O'Groats to Land's End in May 2010.
Bethany says: 'Please come and support me on Bank Holiday Monday and keep me distracted from the endless miles I will be running on the treadmill! Come for a chat and leave a small donation.'
