Chelsea will sing TTXGP song in Malta

by isleofman.com 29th April 2009

A teenager is heading to Malta today to represent the Isle of Man in an international singing competition.

Chelsea Gowland will compete against hopefuls from nine other countries for a prize which guarantees participation in the annual Gran Canaria International Song Festival, in June.

Chelsea will sing "Waiting for the World to Change", a song written especially for the TTXGP, the first clean emissions motorcycle race.

She will be taking a selection of Manx produce to hand out in Malta, including a Manx Loaghtan lamb mascot.

Tourism Minister Martyn Quayle says Chelsea is a great ambassador for the Island, and believes this will be the start of a long singing career for her.

The competition will take place on Friday.
