Brown defends handling of MER closure inquiry

Positive changes in the Department of Tourism and Leisure have already been made as a result of an independent inquiry into last year's Manx Electric Railway closure.

In the House of Keys today, Chief Minister Tony Brown told Michael MHK David Cannan that was why the report wasn't the subject of a motion on last month's Tynwald order paper.

Mr Cannan said that wasn't good enough considering taxpayers' money had been spent, and the report had been highly critical in parts of the handling of the closure and of the then DTL Minister Adrian Earnshaw.

But Mr Brown again claimed enough had been done already:
