Tackling health care in UK

by isleofman.com 19th April 2009

Proposals will be put to Tynwald next week in preparation for the ending of the Reciprocal Health Agreement in April 2010.

Liberal Vannin Leader Peter Karran is moving a motion on Tuesday suggesting passengers leaving the Island by air or sea should pay a levy into a fund which would cover them for hospital treatment in the UK.

Mr Karran would also like to see a fund manager in place and not a civil servant to handle the paperwork.

He says it's an important issue and needs to be adressed sooner rather than later.
