Bacchas turn on style

Bacchas confirmed their position as the top men’s side in Manx hockey on Saturday.

The men’s Premier League champions thrashed rivals Valkyrs A 6-1.

A David Kneale hat-trick, plus goals from Gareth Craig, Andrew Whiting and Richard Le Page, secured a fine win.

Steven Crowe scored the Valkyrs consolation.

In Division One, Peter Godwin was the hero as Harlequins clinched the league crown.

Les Callow got the other in a 5-3 victory over battling Saracens.

In the women’s Premier Division, Claire Powner netted a double as Castletown A won 2-1 against Bacchas A, whose goal was scored by Niamh Goddard.

Ramsey A celebrated a victory over the champions, Vikings A.

They won 3-2, courtesy of goals from Sarah Breen (two) and Ali Breen.

Kim Carney and Delta Williams were on target for the champions.
