The TT Coordinating Committee meets today with a crisis at the top of the agenda.
The big issue will be the negative reaction to last week's announcement of roads closing an hour earlier for four nights during practice week, to allow riders to qualify to compete in the TTXGP event.
Sports editor Tim Glover reports (text, below, from attached audio file):
The Coordinating Committee is chaired by Tourism Minister Martyn Quayle.
Other political representation comes from the departments of transport and home affairs.
Also involved will be the police, marshals and senior race officials.
With just 43 days to go until TT 2009 starts, a decision or compromise needs to be reached.
It's a delicate issue.
There is little doubt the Isle of Man will gain much kudos in staging the world's first clean emissions motorcycle race.
But the TT's future is very dependent on the goodwill of the people of the Isle of Man, as is many a political career.
