Allotments setback in Ramsey

Plans by Ramsey Commissioners to offer allotments to local residents have suffered a setback, after an application relating to land at Balladoole was turned down.

The local authority had hoped planners would allow surplus land at the proposed site of the new sewage treatment works to be used for the purpose.

Demand for allotments in Ramsey is high, and other sites around the town are being considered as potential locations.

Board chairman Brian Beattie is assuring local residents the search for suitable sites will continue:
