Matt Ogden is Young Actor of Mann

by isleofman.com 16th April 2009

This year’s Young Actor of Mann award has gone to a 16 year-old youngster from St Ninian’s High School.

Matt Ogden was awarded the trophy at the Gaiety Theatre last night, where the Easter Festival of Plays is being performed.

Matt, a member of Stage One Drama School, had performed extracts from two contrasting plays, Stephen Sondheim’s Sweeney Todd and Peer Gynt by Henrik Ibsen, in front of a panel of adjudicators earlier in the day. He wins a week at drama summer school in the United Kingdom.

Six other talented young actors reached the final and the runner-up was Eleanor Drinkwater from Saddlestone in Douglas.
