A cancer research specialist says the Island can be very proud of the contribution it makes to fighting the disease.
Dr Ros Eeles, from the Institute of Cancer Research, has been on the Island as a guest of the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association.
The organisation is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and, as well as donating more than ?500,000 to cancer research, it's taking the opportunity to thank its volunteers for their tireless dedication.
Dr Eeles says she was honoured to be part of the special event held for volunteers, and the work that's being done on the Island can't be underestimated:
