Old Boys Lift F.A. Cup

by isleofman.com 13th April 2009

Douglas High School Old Boys have won the F.A. Cup for the first time in 13 years.

They drew one-all with St. George's after full-time and 30 minutes of extra-time, but won a dramatic penalty shoot-out three-two.

A long-range free-kick from Robbie Ward put Old Boys ahead in the first-half before Callum Morrisey equalised in the early stages of the second period.

The decisive moment came when Old Boys keeper Sam Halliday saved Morrisey's penalty to kick-start the celebrations.

A delighted Old Boys Manager Colin Purvis admits the pressure got to him towards the end:-
