Gillespie takes Peel Hill Climb

Matt Gillespie from Glasgow won Easter Saturday's Peel Hill Climb.

He took the honours ahead of Matt Bond and James Walsh.

The first local was Kevin Loundes from Manx Harriers in sixth. Darren Gray was the next best local in 12th and Ed Gumbley finished a fine 20th.

Going into the final day of competition, Bond just leads Gillespie in the overall points tally with Dave Norman third and Loundes in fourth.

In the women's event, the first five were all from Leeds.

Claire Duck was the winner ahead of Emma Waterhouse and Lisa Da Silva

Manx Harriers' Gail Griffiths was the first local in 14th, Sarah Curphey finished 20th and Samanatha Cowen came home 33rd.

Going into the final day, it remains Leeds domination at the top with Waterhouse edging Duck and Da Silva in the standings. Griffiths is 12th.

In the team contests, Cambridge edge Manchester and Edinburgh with Manx Harriers fourth in the men's competition, while it's Leeds, Edinburgh and Manchester in the women's section.
