Demesne Road furniture collection

by isleofman.com 11th April 2009

There is a furniture collection for the victims of last month's Demesne Road fire at the Tesco car park today.

Anybody can contribute items, which will be passed on to residents whose homes were badly damaged in the blaze.

Lancaster and Kelly will provide storage until the furniture is needed.

Hospice Isle of Man has offered some unsold furniture for the collection, and any unwanted items will be returned to the charity.

Chris Sheehan from the store on Lake Road says Tesco is glad to help, especially as the fire has had a direct impact on the company.

A member of staff and her husband and child had to be evacuated from their home in Demesne Road.
