40 tonne boulders are on their way

The first of the barges carrying boulders for the airport runway extension scheme has arrived at Ronaldsway.

But bigger barges will be on their way in due course, bringing the rock armour for the so called "RESA" scheme.

It's a massive project which will be reliant initially on good weather at the site.

Airport Director Anne Reynolds says the first barge carried a relatively modest load:
