KSF High Court hearing update

by isleofman.com 9th April 2009

The Kaupthing Bank hearing taking place at Douglas courthouse has adjourned for lunch.

Over the past three hours arguments have been heard in favour of the Manx government's proposed Scheme of Arrangement.

Acting Deemster Andrew Corlett was told such a scheme would bring certainty to depositors, who would receive lump payments over a set period.

However, a group of depositors said there would be no tangible benefits, and a straightforward liquidation would allow quicker payment.

Time set for hearing to resume: 1.45pm.
