Inflation down for fifth consecutive month

by isleofman.com 9th April 2009

The annual rate of inflation in the Isle of Man has dropped for the fifth month in a row, falling by another 0.5% last month to 0.5%.

The Manx Treasury says once again this was primarily down to the impact of reduced interest rates on mortgage costs.

Inflation has now plummeted by 6% in six months and there may be more to come.

The Treasury says further cuts in the bank rate may have an impact on future inflation figures.
