Bowl working group gets down to business

The task of deciding whether up to ?3.2 million can be spent on redeveloping the Bowl, in time for the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games, has begun.

A working group, led by Sports Council chairman Geoff Karran, has had its first meeting, and was due to meet the Manx FA to discuss its possible involvement in the project this week.

Leader of Douglas Council David Christian is hoping for "a meeting of minds" to enable the scheme to go ahead, but he also wants a decision as soon as possible so the working group doesn't become a "talking shop":
