Burglars target Douglas homes

by isleofman.com 8th April 2009

Three houses in Douglas have been targeted in a series of burglaries.

Various items were stolen from the properties on Hawarden Avenue, Alexander Drive and Ballabrooie Way on Monday.

Two of the houses were broken into but no-one was home when any of the burglaries occurred.

Items taken include a 32-inch television, a Wii games console and an Ipod Nano.

Acting Inspector Steve Maddox of the Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team said burglaries are very rare in the Island but officers are patrolling the area regularly.

Police say they would like to speak to a white man around six foot tall, in his late 20s with a slim build and shaven head, who was seen in Alexander Drive at the time of one of the burglaries.

Anyone with information should contact police headquarters on 631212.
