Scallop sorting - mistakes will be made!

The fisheries minister has told the House of Keys occasional mistakes will be made when fishing vessels sort their catches and find undersized scallops.

Phil Gawne was responding to a question from Michael MHK David Cannan who asked if it was policy to permit a maximum of ten per cent of scallops below the legal size.

Mr Gawne said the decision to prosecute or take no action was at his department's discretion, but he added the policy was consistent:
