Brown says 'no' to customs officers on boats

The chief minister has insisted there is no need to deploy Manx customs officers on Steam Packet boats.

Tony Brown was answering a House of Keys question from Onchan MHK Peter Karran, who said the officers could also be stationed at ports in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

However, Mr Brown said there were already effective systems in place to protect the Isle of Man from the importation of illegal drugs and firearms:
