Multi-agency teams - Mandate interview

More on the creation of five MATs, or multi-agency teams, which have been given the task of improving the lives of children and young people in the Island.

The areas of responsibility mirror the five neighbourhood policing areas - namely Douglas, and the north, south, east and west - and each of the teams has representatives from social services, health, education, the police and the voluntary sector.

They will be helping youngsters in their local communities to achieve the so called 'five outcomes' - of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution and prospering - as highlighted in the Chief Minister's Strategy for Children and Young People.

Western team leader Jo White, a teacher at QE II High School, told Graham Bell one gap in services has already been identified:
