A new headteacher has been appointed at Scoill Ree Gorree Primary School in Ramsey.

Jacqueline Barrow will take up the position from the start of the new academic year, in September.

Mrs Barrow will make the move from Ballasalla Primary School, where she has been head for four years.

She trained at Durham University and moved to the Island more than 30 years ago to take up a teaching post at Ballaugh.

Mrs Barrow has also taught at Auldyn Infants and the old Albert Road School.

The outgoing head teacher at Scoill Ree Gorree is Mike Faragher.
