Expert says parents must set a good example

Parents in the Isle of Man have a responsibility to set an example for their children when it comes to drinking.

That's the view of Professor Mark Bellis, the director of the Centre for Public Health at Liverpool John Moores University.

Professor Bellis was one of the guest speakers at the recent International Criminal Justice conference at the Villa Marina in Douglas.

His comments follow the publication of a European survey which highlighted the seriousness of the binge drinking culture among teenagers in the Isle of Man.

Professor Bellis says children are easily influenced by their parents' habits:
