Bacchas A are champs!

by isleofman.com 4th April 2009

Bacchas A are champions again!

They’ve retained the title to become the first ever winners of the men's Premier Division.

After they demolished a weak Ramsey side 17-0, nearest rivals Valkyrs A went down 2-1 at Vikings to set the celebrations in full swing.

Dave Kneale hit 10 in the rout!

There was also a hat-trick from Karl Moore, two from Richard Le Page and one each from Andrew Whiting and Sean Corlett.

The celebrations began once Connor Byrne fired Vikings to victory over Valkyrs.

His double meant Gerry Quinn’s goal wasn’t enough as Valkyrs’ hopes came to an end.

Bacchas B won well, 5-3 against Castletown A, courtesy of a Mark Parsons double and goals from Mark Perryman, Tony Bentley-Roberts and Connor Leece.

Paul Kelly was unfortunate to end up on the losing side as he struck a hat-trick for Town.

Valkyrs B thrashed Vikings B 5-1 with goals from Nick Walt, Mark Moyer (two), Steven Lowe and Clive Callister.

Christian Davis notched the Valkyrs’ consolation.

In the women’s Premier League, goals from Hannah Leece and Hannah Logan earned Castletown A a 2-1 success over Ramsey A, for whom Laura Bellwood found the net, while Valkyrs A were 5-0 winners over Phoenix – Emma Faulkner (two), Aalish Bennet,, Leanne Brew and Leanne Prescott the scorers.
