Man on murder charge named

A 34 year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder.

Simon Paul Leece, of Fairfield Terrace in Douglas also faces two counts of arson and destroying property with intent to endanger life, and two charges of damaging property with intent to endanger life.

Sixty-one year-old builder Terry Losh died in a blaze at 19 Demesne Road, Douglas in the early hours of Sunday March 22.

There were two other fires in the area on the same day, in Clarke Street and Peveril Street, and a fire in Bucks Road the previous day.

There was no application for bail and the defendant was remanded in custody until his next court appearance, a week today.
